Anne Maillard to join BCV as head of Retail Banking Division

BCV’s Board of Directors has appointed Anne Maillard to the Bank’s Executive Board as head of the Retail Banking Division. Ms. Maillard, who currently serves as COO and head of the products and services division on the executive board of Banque Cantonale de Fribourg, will join BCV on 1 July 2025. She will replace José F. Sierdo, who has held the position since 2014 and will retire on 30 June 2025.

Recognized expertise in retail banking

Anne Maillard, a Swiss citizen born in 1969, possesses a deep expertise in retail banking and has held various positions in the banking sector over a career spanning more than 30 years.
Ms. Maillard joined Banque Cantonale de Fribourg (BCF) in 1998 and has held several management positions there, including head of marketing, products, and sponsoring. In 2017, she joined BCF’s executive board as head of the branch network division, and she became head of the products and services division in 2022. Before joining BCF, she worked at Swiss Bank Corporation in Zurich and the Fribourg Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services.
Ms. Maillard holds an economics degree from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and completed Stanford University’s Executive Program in 2016. She is fluent in French, German, and English.
She brings to BCV extensive experience in managing a branch network, as well as in developing and implementing strategies in the areas of customer service, banking products and services, and digital banking.
 

Warmest thanks to José F. Sierdo

José F. Sierdo, who has served in his position since 3 March 2014, will retire and leave the Bank on 30 June 2025.
Under his leadership, BCV’s retail division has delivered strong performance during a period of profound change in the banking industry. Over the last 10 years, Mr. Sierdo drove the transformation of his division to keep pace with customers’ rapidly evolving expectations. He oversaw the modernization of BCV’s branch office network, the strengthening of his division’s advisory capacities, and the rollout of numerous digital banking functions. He also contributed to the development of the TWINT payment app in Switzerland.
The Board of Directors and the Executive Board would like to express their warmest thanks to Mr. Sierdo for his unwavering commitment, professionalism, and loyalty.
