Sponsorship at BCV

We support activities of popular interest in Vaud, focusing on sports, culture, and the economy. We are involved with some of the Canton’s biggest events, choosing to sponsor those that reflect our values of community and professionalism.

Sports

Sports activities are a key part of the social fabric of Vaud and are central to our sponsorship policy.

We sponsor several clubs, including the Lausanne Hockey Club (LHC) since 1987 and the Football Club Lausanne Sport since 2011. We also support up-and-coming talent through our sponsorship of the Association cantonale vaudoise de football (ACVF), YS Academy, Lausanne’s Centre Sport-Etudes for school-age athletes, the Fondation Foot Avenir (which supports budding footballers in Vaud), Mérite Sportif Vaudois, and Fondation d'aide aux sportifs vaudois.

We sponsor a range of family-oriented activities as well. This includes the Lausanne 20K race, which we have been supporting since it was first held in 1982. We also back numerous other local sporting events, such as the Traîne-Savates foot race.

What’s more, we provided financial support for the construction of the Centre Sport et Santé (CSS) at the University of Lausanne and EPFL, a sports facility that promotes regular exercise.

Culture

Cultural activities are a fundamental part of life in Vaud and a key component of our sponsorship policy. The Théâtre de Beausobre, Théâtre du Jorat, Théâtre de Benno Besson, exhibitions at the Maison d’Ailleurs science-fiction museum, and the Lausanne–Pully Museum Night are all examples of local cultural events and organizations that have received our backing.

In 2013, we committed to supporting the construction of the Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts (MCBA) on the Platform 10 site. This new arts district will host the MCBA, the Musée de design et d’arts appliqués contemporains (mudac), the Musée de l’Elysée photography museum, and the Félix Vallotton and Toms Pauli Foundations.

We also lend our support to music events. We have been the main sponsor of the Paléo Festival in Nyon – Switzerland’s largest open-air music festival – since 2005. BCV is a partner of the Cully Jazz Festival that bring together Vaudois from all walks of life.

We also provided financial backing for the construction of Lausanne’s BCV Concert Hall, which was opened in 2014 and seats up to 300. Located in the Flon district, this hall features state-of-the-art acoustics and modular facilities that can be adjusted to suit any musical genre.

Through our support for the Vevey Festival of Images, we also do our part to ensure that culture is accessible to all inhabitants of Vaud.

The economy

BCV is the largest bank in Vaud and plays an important role in the local economy. As such, we actively support some of the key economic events that take place in the Canton, such as the Forum des 100, the Forum de l’Economie Vaudoise, the PERL Awards, and, of course, trade fairs and economic forums that take place at the regional level.

For young people across the Canton

Explorit Loisirs & Découvertes  is a one-of-a-kind science activity center in Yverdon-les-Bains that offers exhibitions and films, camps, workshops and other activities, as well as places to eat and drink. BCV sponsors the center’s family exhibits: Kindercity, where young children (0–6) enter the fantastical world of the Kookaï Wei and learn about the importance of protecting the environment; and Sciencity, where children 6 and up explore basic principles of science, outer space, and cities of the future, through fun, hands-on activities.

We finance an innovative project chosen by the UCreate acceleration program of the University of Lausanne’s HUB Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The project’s objective is to make a positive impact on the local community and environment.
