Markus Gygax, Head of BCV’s Retail Banking Division and Member of the Executive Board, has accepted the position of CEO at Valiant Bank. He will be leaving BCV on 30 November 2013. BCV regrets his departure and wishes him all the best in the next stage of his career.
Mr. Gygax was born on 18 June 1962 and has been head of the Retail Banking Division since 1 October 2008. In that time, the Bern-native has helped BCV gain momentum and market share. Under his guidance, retail and e-banking saw business strengthened, resulting in strong growth in business volumes during recent years. Mr. Gygax also oversaw the reorganization and modernization of the retail network and was one of the early proponents of mobile banking.
BCV regrets Mr. Gygax’s departure but is pleased that, having developed his business skills and leadership qualities over the last five years, he has now decided to make the logical move of taking on more responsibilities in the Swiss financial market. Management wishes to express its warmest and most sincere thanks to Mr. Gygax for all he has done for the Bank, and wishes him all the best at his new position.
