Ingrid Deltenre slated for BCV's Board of Directors

At the next Shareholders’ Meeting, BCV’s Board of Directors will recommend that Ingrid Deltenre, Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), be named to replace outgoing Board member Beth Krasna.

Lausanne, Switzerland, 10 March 2014 - The Board of Directors will recommend that Ingrid Deltenre be appointed to the Board at the Group's next Shareholders’ Meeting on 1 May 2014, in accordance with Article 12a (1(c)) of the new cantonal law governing BCV. Ms. Deltenre will be one of the three members of BCV's Board appointed by the Bank’s shareholders. She will replace Beth Krasna, whose term has come to an end.

A new board member with vast experience

In the course of her career, Ingrid Deltenre has acquired extensive management experience in the media industry, as well as in-depth knowledge of economics. After graduating from the University of Zurich with a humanities degree, Ms. Deltenre held various executive positions in publishing, before becoming CEO of Publisuisse in 2000. She was appointed to head up Schweizer Fernsehen (SF), the leading public TV broadcaster in German-speaking Switzerland, in 2004, and held this position for six years. In 2010, Ms. Deltenre became Director General of the Geneva-based European Broadcasting Union (EBU), an organization with close to 400 employees. Ms. Deltenre is also President of Eurovision Americas Inc. (the EBU’s US arm) and a member of the University of Zurich’s Executive MBA advisory board. She is a Dutch and Swiss national.

Beth Krasna’s term comes to an end after 12 years on the Board

Management would like to extend its warmest thanks to Beth Krasna. Ms. Krasna’s vision as a corporate leader, together with her experience in an array of industries, including the tech sector, her knowledge of the local economy, and her dynamic personality were all considerable assets for the Bank. She will be remembered fondly for her hard work and unfailing commitment, particularly as Chair of the Innovation and Opportunities Committee, a role she has held since 2011.
